What time is Check-in and Check-out?

Check-in is at 4:00pm EST daily. 

Check-out is 10:30am EST.

What if I arrive early? Or need to catch a later ferry?

All guests are encouraged to bring an extra small bag or tote to change into poolwear to enjoy our pool or hang out at our bar and grill, ‘Canes.

Can I request late check-out?

Late check-out is based on availability. Please reach out to our front desk, as this will depend on arrivals on your day of departure.

Can I request early check-in?

Early check-in is based on availability and is in no way guaranteed. Patterns for our departing guests vary daily. With this in mind, in the event your room type is available and fully serviced by our housekeeping department, the hotel will provide an early check-in when possible.

Is there a minimum on how many nights I need to book?

For weekends in the high season, we carry a two-night minimum. For Holiday Weekends (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day), we carry a three-night minimum.

Also, several of our room types, Cabin, Bungalow and Double Queen Suite Superior carry a minimum length of stay.

What taxes and fees are collected in our folio?

Suffolk County Sales and Hotel Taxes are automatically charged to your folio. In addition, the FIBH charges $50 per day as a resort fee.

Is the hotel pet friendly?

The FIBH does not allow pets of any kind.

Are group rates available?

Group rates will start with a minimum of 12 booked rooms. Some blackout dates apply. Please contact info@thefibh.com for more information on group rates.

Does the hotel provide any WiFi services?

Yes, Our entire property is covered with a mesh system and WiFi is included with all hotel stays. Wifi is covered in the daily resort fee of $50 per room.

What is minimum age required to check in?

Minimum age required to check in is 21 with valid government issued ID.

What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?

All reservations are guaranteed.  A deposit of 50% of the total stay amount is taken time of reservation. The remaining balance of the reservation will be charged 72 hours prior to arrival.

Reservations cancelled (14) fourteen or more days prior to arrival are provided a full refund. Reservations cancelled eight (8) to thirteen (13) days prior to arrival will be charged  one (1) night's room rate as a cancellation fee.  If any collected fees remain, they will be returned to the method of payment on file.

All cancellations made in seven (7) days prior to arrival will not be allowed a refund and no credits will be given.

Can I smoke in the hotel?

Please refrain from smoking as this is a smoke-free New York hotel. If you smoke in your room, a $350 smoking fee will be applied. Noise and smoke complaints are taken very seriously. Excessive noise and all smoke complaints will be addressed by our Security Department.

What happens if I damage the guest room?

You will be responsible for the FULL replacement cost of any item damaged in the guest room. Charges will be posted to your folio.

How do I get to The FIBH?

Ocean Bay Park is accessible by ferry, water taxi or private marine craft. Multiple daily ferry rides are available via the Fire Island Ferries located in Bay Shore, NY. Ample parking is available at their ferry terminal. If not traveling by car, the terminal is accessible by bus and the LIRR. Please see the ferry schedule on their website, www.fireislandferries.com. The FIBH is located a short walk away from the ferry terminal and the hotel will coordinate baggage pickup and wagon rental upon request.
